an Elephant passes by....

our friend [and neighbour] Leon Burger phoned today to warn us about AN ELEPHANT that was last seen heading our way from the Tsumeb golf course!
At 1st i thought it was a joke, but the rumor was confirmed some hours later.

New road south completed

After 2 weeks Johannes and Frans did finish the scenic road leading to the southern border. This road pass through a small forest which is very beautiful.

Designing the flysheets for the windows

Standard flysheets do not fit onto the window...therefore i decided to build them myself. In the end, saving the costs by 80% !!!!!!!!!

Completing the 'ceilings' of the stables

We spent the whole of saterday to fit the two last remaining ceilings of the accommodation unit.

Guineafowls breeding

Once a year after the winter, the guineafowls from the area gather on the open grasslands to breed at Kraalkop. Indeed a very spectacular sight

due to the overnight exploding of the green season and leaves on the trees and bush, the WIMAX tower was extended by another 5m.

early on thursday morning 5 new kittens saw the daylight for the 1st time on Kraalkop.

The office changed into a workshop, there are lots of woodwork to be done.

Preparing the mould for the kitchen sink

A template was made to accommodate the sink in the kitchen. This melamin counter top will be taken off later to pour the concrete for the sink.

After the rains it was pretty obvious that the roof need some serious maintenance

Storm on the 1st night

A small rainstorm hit Kraalkop on the 1st night and the kitchen was partially flooded.

1st October - MOVING HOUSE

On the morning of the 1st of October we started to move house. The cats did like it at all. Thysie ran away on the first afternoon , but he thankfully returned late that same evening...

Surf's UP! We had a braaivleis this afternoon and the kids enjoyed the dam.

Office power supply in progress

The power supply to the office is almost finished. We will also start to plant some lawn in front of the office.

Designing the GreyWater system

Early this morning we start to dig the trenches for the GreyWater system.
A Fat trap will provide'clear' water to the dispenser . I plan to plant some veggies on top of the area around the dispenser.
